I'm starting a blog!

Why am I starting this blog?

I’m at a point where I’m reading a lot more than in the past years and I am often doing a lot of research on different things. When you put these two together, they spark a lot of ideas and I think it would be nice to share them with you.

Because I used to write and enjoyed it, and I think that it would be interesting to do it again.

What do I write about?

It’s going to be diverse. I will write about things that are not related, things that I like or dislike. Here are just a few in no specific order: technology, personal development, entrepreneurship, society, money, life, travel, health, cooking, eating, sleeping, books that I read, sometimes SF thoughts, list to go on..

Who am I?

I’m a 29 guy (at least in year 2019) who lives in Bucharest, Romania, travels around the world and built a multi-million $ tech startup that was acquired in 2018. Currently, I’m discovering myself, investing (time and money) in different things and I’m curious to try new experiences. I like going in nature - hiking and wondering around, spending time with the loved ones, cooking and building stuff.

Write for 3 minutes without stopping!

I read that one way you could write more and faster is by writing without stopping for a certain amount of time. You would be writing both good and bad things, but you can sort through it later. There are also websites and apps that you can use and they delete what you’ve written if you stop writing. I am currently using the Notes app to write this down because I haven’t figured yet what to use for my blog. I hate Wordpress and it is quite sad that in 2019 there is no other better way of writing a blog. Medium is cool, but it is too much focused on the community stuff and they don’t allow using a custom domain and lately they are trying a lot to squeeze money out of people. At least I have a domain now - stefanneculai.com - and if I write ideas down I can put them online later on. I am a tech guy, so I thought that maybe I could quickly put together a blog in a more geeky way. I’m sort of a geek too, so I’ve tried to do it at first by using Github and then serving it as a static website. All good, until I put it on and I realized that isn’t going to be that easy to maintain because I wouldn’t have basic things that I would like: an option to subscribe to articles, comments, an easy way to write posts even from my phone, analytics. Of course, I can link different services and get these in place, but it’s not going to be a seamless experience when I want to write and it would prevent me from the core thing: WRITING. It’s been cool to write without pausing and I did it for more than 3 minutes. You’re turn now. What would you write in 3 minutes? Start now!

Final thoughts

I just realized that this blog post might need updates from time to time as things change, so I will have to figure out a way of doing it. Cool!
